Biography
Returning to Livingston after completing his education, Carl embarked on a journey of professional growth. He began his career in Materials Quality Control at Fisher Sand & Gravel before transitioning to roles as a Land Surveyor and Civil Engineer at TD&H Engineering in Bozeman. Currently, Carl serves as a Mechanical Engineer for NCAT, contributing his expertise remotely to headquarters located in Butte.
Carl, alongside his wife, Rebecca Swandal, and their four young children, Nels, Thora, Willa, and Holter, resides outside Wilsall, embodying a legacy deeply entrenched in Park County's history. His children are fifth-generation residents of Park County, and his family is deeply connected to the fabric of the community. Notably, Carl's mother, Jann Berntsen, holds a special place in local memory as the last owner/operator of KPRK during the beloved "Swap Shop" era.
With a wealth of technical knowledge in infrastructure, Carl Berntsen seeks to bring his expertise to the forefront as County Commissioner. His vision encompasses a government that operates with efficiency and effectiveness, relieving taxpayers of unnecessary burdens and working to limit the government to only that which is necessary to serve the people of Park County.
